                ERECTILE  DYSFUNCTION-
                              STAY FIT !!

Erectile  Dysfunction is a  common  problem but seldom discussed and suffered silently.  The problem  is common among aged people ( above the age of 55) and all those who have medical problems such as Diabetics, cirrhosis of liver ;  persons who have history of heart attack, vascular problems, spinal injuries, cancer, imbalanced hormonal  levels ; those who are treated for Depression for a long period; The causes are many.  They  are even because of mental stress, lack of desire, guilt, and such other psychological reasons.  Besides, most  of the diseases  cause  erectile dysfunction  as one of the end results.
To understand what causes erectile dysfunction or ED, it is important to first review how an erection occurs. For a man to have an erection, a complex process takes place within the body.

Erectile Process:
An erection involves the Central Nervous System, peripheral nervous system, psychological factors, hormonal and vascular factors and the factors with the erection bodies or the penis itself. The penile portion of the process leading to an erection represents only a single component of a very complicated and complex process.
·         Erections occur in response to touch, smell, and auditory and visual stimuli that trigger pathways in the brain. Information travels from the brain to the nerve centers at the base of the spine, where primary nerve fibers connect to the penis and regulate blood flow during erections and afterward.
·         Sexual stimulation causes the release of chemicals from the nerve endings in the penis that trigger a series of events that ultimately cause muscle relaxation in the erection bodies of the penis. The smooth muscle in the erection bodies controls the flow of blood into the penis. When the smooth muscle relaxes, the blood flow dramatically increases, and the erection bodies become full and rigid, resulting in an erection. Venous drainage channels are compressed and close off as the erection bodies enlarge.
·         The penis becomes flaccid when muscle-relaxing chemicals are no longer released.

In general, the cause of erectile dysfunction is divided into 2 types. Many men will have both:
·         Psychological (mental) causes
·         Physical or organic (having to do with a bodily organ or an organ system) causes

        DETOXIFY YOUR LIVER NOW~!!

Liver is the largest glandular organ in our body, with multi critical functions. Some  of the important functions of the liver is given below:

§  Stores vitamins, sugar and iron to help give your body energy.
§  Controls the production and removal of cholesterol.
§  Clears your blood of waste products, drugs and other poisonous substances.
§  Makes clotting factors to stop excessive bleeding after cuts or injuries.
§  Produces immune factors and removes bacteria from the bloodstream to combat infection.
§  Releases a substance called "bile" to help digest food and absorb important nutrients.

Liver when fully functional, repairs its own damage; yet scar tissues appear in the organ which effectively curtails the functions of the liver. As the scar tissues grow, the performance of the liver is critically affected and causes liver failure or cirrhosis of the liver. A person cannot live if the liver fails to function.

Symptoms of liver disease:
Jaundice ( The skin or the whites of eyes turning yellow)
Nausea
Vommitting
Bloated abdomen and swollen ankles
Appetite loss/ weight  loss
Vommitting  blood  ( an almost a sure sign of cirrhosis of the liver)

Liver Cirrhosis- Causes:
Major cause for liver cirrhosis  is ALCOHOL ABUSE
Hepatitis virus infections
Conditions leading to liver cell and /or bile duct damage.

Without treatment, a person with liver disease is susceptible to wide range of complications:
1.     Scar tissues preventing proper flow of blood through liver , thereby retaining toxins. These
Circulating toxins can affect brain functions and lead to coma.
2.     Cancer
3.     Gastrointestinal bleeding

FOOD WHICH ENHANCE THE FUNCTIONS OF LIVER.

Garlic:  Garlic bulbs activate liver enzymes that helps the body to cleanse and release toxins from
 the digestive track.

Beets and Carrots : Both are high in beta-carotene. They stimulate and improve overall liver function.

GLUTATHIONE: Glutathione is the body's master antioxidant and detoxifier.
Foods that boost glutathione levels can help the body rid itself of heavy metals, chemicalsand other toxic substances. You cannot increase glutathione levels in the body with supplemental pill-forms of glutathione - so save your money. Eat your way to health instead!
